2004 Transit of Venus

The first of a pair of Transits of Venus across the face of the sun was seen from New York City on June 8 2004. Local viewing for this global event was lead by the AAA at Carl Schurz Park on the east side of Manhattan. Observers had an unobstructed view east towards the Triboro Bridge and sunrise, with the transit in progress once the sun cleared the low clouds.

Next transit of Venus will be on June 5, 2012, after that you’ll have to wait 105 years!
