2014 Spring StarFest

On March 22, we held our annual Spring Starfest at the Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx. It was a complete success. The weather co-operated with clear, dark skies, providing our observers and guests with great views of Jupiter and other celestial targets. The AAA would like to thank our co-hosts at the Woodlawn Conservancy, especially Cristiana Peña, Director of Events, for making this year’s Starfest possible. In addition, our sincere gratitude to distinguished guests and partners in our special events: Al Nagler, CEO and founder of Tele Vue Optics and Alex Attanasio of the Intrepid Museum. Finally, many thanks to our dedicated members that helped coordinate and plan this event and to our Starfest observing team members who brought a wide variety of telescopes to share the Bronx skies with visitors.
