We meet at Wagner Park, just below Battery Park City at the southern tip of Manhattan. The park is wedged between historic Battery Park and the old marine fire house (now a restaurant) to its east, and the Museum of Jewish Heritage to its north. It has unobstructed views to the south and west, and nearly unobstructed views to the east.
This is a new observing site for the AAA and we are still working on the schedule of dates for this year.
We are planning a “dry-run” at Wagner Park on Thursday, May 19, starting at dusk. The 13-day old Moon and Jupiter will be out and we may catch Saturn and Mars in the late evening in the southeastern sky. All are welcome to join us.
