Parkchester, Bronx

The Amateur Astronomers Association holds evening observing sessions at the Metropolitan Oval in Parkchester on the last Saturday of each month (except where noted), from April through November. Metropolitan Oval is located at the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and Unionport Road in the Parkchester section of the Bronx.

We meet in the pathway immediately surrounding the Fantasia Fountain in the center of the Metropolitan Oval.  The location is easily accessible via the No. 6 train and the Bx22 and Bx39 buses.

We encourage anyone wishing to bring a telescope or binoculars to do so.  (Due to space considerations, we are limited to 3 telescope setups, and we ask that you contact Joe Martinez if you wish to participate.)  If you require assistance learning to use your telescope, we ask that you please notify us beforehand so that we can research your scope and verify that we have an expert available to assist.
