Sidewalk Astronomy in the Bronx

This photo depicts a drawing of celestial objects known to us as Saturn (left), a star, possibly Venus (middle), and a crescent moon (right).  The age and identity of the artist(s) of this drawing is unknown.  However, the drawing clearly expresses how captivated and enthralled the artist(s) are with space and the heavenly bodies.  It is relieving and encouraging to know that children (adolescents and teenagers) here in the Bronx are enthralled with the stars and revere space and its objects such that they draw them for us to see and for them to remember .

A drawing at the D’Auria-Murphy Triangle between Crescent and East 18th Street, Bronx, NY. Photographed on 4/22/23 at 1PM.
